PANCH TATVA

 

Universe is made up of 5 elements / Panch Tatva, namely Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Nature constantly struggles to maintain balance amongst these 5 elements.


On similar lines, human body is also made of 5 elements / Panch Tatva, namely Earth element (Bones and Muscles), Water element (Blood), Air element (Breath), Fire element (Heat / Energy), and Space element (Emptiness within).


Synchronization of these 5 elements, leads to generation of various energies like, Bio-energy, magnetic energy, electrical energy, mechanical energy, chemical energy and so on. Human body constantly struggles to maintain balance amongst these 5 elements, because if any one element is taken out, body would collapse.


Our fingers too represent these 5 elements / Panch Tatva, whereby Thumb represents Fire (Agni), Index finger represents Air (Vayu), Middle finger represents Space (Akash), Ring finger represents Earth (Prithvi) and our tiny Little finger represents Water (Jal).


The middle finger is the longest and represents space which is the largest element of the Universe as well as in our body, as there are billions of cells in our body, with intra cellular space between each of these cells, making it the largest element in our body.


Thus its a common saying "Almighty resides within us"... Brahmand / Universe is within us. Rama & Ravana are within our own selves, our Karma defines what we are.

  PALASH (Kesudo) “The Sacred flame of forest”   The first sloka of the Sukla Yajurveda speaks about the Palasa tree and in Sanskrit, the flower is extensively used as a symbol for the arrival of spring and the colour of love.
