Nabhi / Belly Button / Navel

The belly button is the body's center of gravity. One of the interesting observations in one scientific research proved that people who are of West African descent, have longer legs than those of European descent, and that means their belly button is about 1.18 inches higher than whites, that gives black runners an edge over white runners, since their center of gravity is significantly higher.

Whereas, for this same reason, whites who have longer torsos, are better swimmers; as the lower navel means a lower center of gravity.

There is a belief in India that navel-baring has a symbolic, almost mystical, association with birth and life, and that the display is meant to emphasize the centrality of nature in the nurture role. In ancient Indian tradition, the navel of the god Vishnu is considered to be the center of the universe and the source of life. Vedic literature states that Vishnu the Preserver, sleeps on the ocean floor and while he sleeps, a lotus appears from his navel, out of which the god Brahma emanated, who then created the world. That's the reason, navel or belly button has been held to be very important in the yogic practices. It is supposed to be the most important point in the whole body when it comes to energy management and body sustenance.

The knots of the Kusti / Janoi applied by the Zorashtrian Aryans is exactly positioned at the Navel and while reciting their Kusti prayers, the index finger is placed on the Navel, holding and pressing the knots of Kusti in the belly button.

The object of tying the Kusti / Janoi on the waist is that thereby Khoreh, personal emanation or aura, is kept attracted to the middle of the body, especially the Navel.

Kusti / Janoi performs the function of drawing magnetc circuit / KASH around the body, on the similar lines how Lord Laxman had drawn a KASH / rekha to protect Sitaji.

Umbilical cord is the devine connection created by the Almighty, that connect the mother and child. It’s the primary source of energy transmitted from a mother, to her child, before the same arrives in the physical world.

According to Science, the first part created after conception takes place is the belly button. After it’s created, it joins to the mother’s placenta through the umbilical chord.

Important observation to note is that even after a person has passed away, the belly button is still warm for 3 hours.

This is the reason all our veins are connected to our belly button which makes it the focal point of our body.
