GUDHI PADWA
GUDHI PADWA
Mid of March to mid of April, is the time of spring festivities,
including Vasant Panchami, Navroz, Holi, Gudhi Padwa, Ugadi, Cheti Chand,
Vaishakhi, Bihu, Navreh, Puthandu and so on.
Gudhi Padva signifies the arrival of spring and reaping of Rabi crops,
as it’s the first day of Chaitra month, with bright phase of moon, to mark the
beginning of the new year according to the lunisolar method of the Hindu
calendar. Padava or Paadvo comes from the Sanskrit word Pratipada, which is the
first day of a lunar fortnight and is linked to the mythical day on which Shri
Brahma created time and universe
Wishing everyone HAPPY GUDHI PADWA
