WATER (Ava Yazad Ardavisur) Water is the fundamental necessity of life for most of the living organisms. Water covers 71% of the Earth's surface, but only 2.5% of this water is fresh water. Surprisingly, 88% of this fresh water is in ice format / underground, so less than 0.3% of all freshwater is in rivers, lakes, and in the atmosphere. From this extremely limited availability of water supply, approximately 70% of this freshwater used by humans goes to agriculture. This makes the picture very clear, on how scarce is its supply and how important is to save it, for future generations. Civilization has historically flourished around rivers and major waterways. Mesopotamia, the so-called cradle of civilization, was situated between the major rivers Tigris and Euphrates. The ancient society of the Egyptians depended entirely upon the river Nile.
